CAMTEL took a decisive step on June 9, 2026, with its flagship conference at the Government Action Fair, SAGO. As the official sponsor from June 6-13 at Yaoundé City Hall, the national telecom operator highlighted its role in securing Cameroon’s digital future.

Chaired by Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi, Managing Director of Cameroon Telecommunications, the event brought together government officials, members of Parliament, public administrations, and key ICT stakeholders.

Opening the session, the Managing Director framed the debate around a strategic theme: “Protection of Public Data and Digital Sovereignty: The Zamengoé Data Center at the Service of Government Action and Cameroon’s Emergence”.

Zamengoé Data Center: The Backbone of National Data Security

More than just technical infrastructure, the Zamengoé Data Center is positioning itself as Cameroon’s national hub for securing public data. Certified Tier III, it delivers high availability, security, and local control over a digital asset deemed vital for the State.

For CAMTEL, protecting Cameroonians’ data is about building citizen trust and accelerating the country’s path to emergence.

CAMTEL: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Addressing the audience, the Managing Director stressed that as public administrations accelerate digital transformation, dematerialize procedures, and digitize citizen services, secure data hosting is no longer optional. It is central.

The Zamengoé Data Center answers that need. It provides a secure, sovereign, and scalable environment for hosting, backup, disaster recovery, colocation, Cloud services, and business continuity. It reduces vulnerabilities, cuts reliance on foreign solutions, strengthens national digital resilience, and directly supports the modernization of public services.

Throughout the discussions, CAMTEL experts engaged with citizens, presented solutions, addressed needs, and opened new pathways for collaboration with public institutions.

“We are here to remind everyone that behind every modernized public service, every secure platform, every protected data set, and every connected administration, there is infrastructure. And this infrastructure, CAMTEL builds, strengthens, and puts at the service of the nation every single day. The Zamengoé Data Center is more than equipment. It is a national strategic asset. It is a guarantee of sovereignty. It is a promise of trust. For our administrations, it is an open door to a public service that is more modern, safer, closer to citizens, and better prepared for tomorrow’s challenges,” the top management concluded.
